Tortuguero National Park TWO DAYS Tour

• Departing from Hostel Pangea at 6:30 am
• What to bring: Hat, light clothes and covered shoes. Rain gear, mosquito repellent, for the walk only. Do not forget your camera and film

First Day

Among such species we find the majestic green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) which has in Tortuguero 21 miles of beach to nest in (July to October); the largest nesting site of the western hemisphere. Tortuguero is considered the most important nesting site on the western half of the caribbean for the green turtle that comes to the beach to nest every year. Other species of sea turtles also nest along the park´s long beach stretch every year.
Depart from San José accompanied by your bilingual naturalist guide, driving first past coffee plantations, we will head into the mountains of Braulio Carrillo National Park where steep slopes are covered with thick cloud forest and beautiful waterfalls can be seen from the road.

That magnificent 46,000 hectare park is one of Costa Rica´s largest, home to three kinds of monkeys, tapirs, 557 bird species and more than 4.000 different species of plants. Your tour guide will identify some of that flora and fauna. Just after Braulio Carrillo National Park, we stop for a typical Costa Rican breakfast, fresh fruit, coffee, eggs and the popular "Gallo Pinto".
Following breakfast, we continue to a Banana Plantantion, where your guide will explain the process of growing and exporting that fruit.

am We later abandon our bus and embark on the most exciting part of this tour: The boat trip into the jungle on the Caribbean Canals to the world famous TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK. We will enjoy a hearty typical lunch to please the hungriest of appetites.
One's in Tortuguero and after checking into the rooms lunch will be served.
At this time we will take you to the museum of Tortuguero and to the Town of Tortuguero for a walking tour.
Back at the hotel you will have time to relax before dinner which will be served at 6:30 pm. After dinner, your tour guide will explain the next optional activity, the "night tour", which consist of a boat trip to TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK and then a walk on the beach to observe the nesting of the Giant Green Sea Turtle.

Second day

Breakfast is served including plentifull fruit, eggs, gallo pinto and fresh brewed Costa Rican coffee. After Check Out.( Bring your luggage  with you). Your tour guide will take you by boat to one of the most enchanting sites in the region, where you will explore the lagoons and hidden canals.

There trees tower nearly 50 meters tall, covered with bromeliads, vines and orchids and an array of wildlife can be spotted in the foliage. Departure from the north of Tortuguero National Park heading to the south of the park. After lunch we will take a tour to the south of the Park and then a walk through the rainforest. Returning to the bus we head back to San José, making a rest stop along the way and arriving in the city around 6:30 pm.
